Video Security
At PackCapture, we understand that packing videos can contain important business information, including customer orders, products, warehouse processes, staff activity, and delivery evidence.
PackCapture is designed to help businesses securely store, manage, and share packing videos while keeping control over who can view them.
Cloud video storage
PackCapture videos are stored using Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure.
AWS is a global cloud provider used by businesses to securely store and manage data.
PackCapture uses AWS storage services to provide reliable cloud-based video storage, rather than relying only on local computers, mobile devices, or warehouse workstations.
Videos are stored in AWS cloud storage and are not intended to be publicly browsable, searchable, or listed.
Secure video transfer
Video uploads and playback are handled over secure HTTPS connections.
This helps protect video data while it is being transferred between the user, PackCapture, and cloud storage.
Encryption at rest
AWS S3 applies server-side encryption to stored objects by default.
This helps protect video files while they are stored in cloud infrastructure.
Video access options
PackCapture gives users control over how videos can be accessed.
Each business can choose the appropriate access setting depending on how sensitive the video is and who needs to view it.
Private videos
Videos can be set to Private.
When a video is private, it must be viewed through the PackCapture platform. This helps keep access controlled within the PackCapture viewing system.
Private video access is suitable for:
• internal order reviews
• missing item investigations
• customer support checks
• staff training
• warehouse quality control
• dispute resolution
For higher-security use cases, we recommend keeping videos private unless they specifically need to be shared externally.
Shareable link videos
Videos can also be set to a Shareable Link.
When this option is enabled, anyone with the video link may be able to view the video.
This is useful when a business needs to quickly share packing evidence with a customer, courier, marketplace, supplier, or another external party who does not have a PackCapture login.
Shareable links should be treated like confidential documents. Only send them to people who are authorised to view the video.
Optional PIN protection
PackCapture also supports optional 4-digit PIN protection for videos.
When a PIN is added, the viewer outside of your organization must enter the correct 4-digit PIN before the video can be viewed on the PackCapture platform.
This provides an additional access control step when sharing videos with customers, support teams, couriers, marketplaces, or other external recipients.
For added protection, businesses may choose to send the video link and PIN through separate messages.
PIN protection is designed as a practical extra security layer for video sharing. However, video links and PINs should still be handled carefully and only shared with authorised recipients.
Randomised video URLs
PackCapture video URLs include random characters rather than simple sequential numbers.
This makes video links difficult to guess or predict.
For example, PackCapture does not rely on simple video links such as:
/video/1001
/video/1002
/video/1003
Instead, video URLs use randomised characters to make unauthorised guessing more difficult.
Randomised URLs are a useful supporting security measure, but they should not be treated as the only form of protection. If a video is set to shareable, anyone with the link may be able to view it unless additional protection, such as PIN protection, is enabled.
Video retention
PackCapture can support video retention settings so businesses do not need to store videos indefinitely.
Older videos can be automatically removed after the selected retention period. This helps businesses manage storage, privacy, and internal data policies.
Retention settings may depend on the customer’s PackCapture plan or configuration.
Customer control
PackCapture allows businesses to choose how each video is handled.
Depending on the situation, users can choose between:
• private viewing through the PackCapture platform
• shareable video links
• optional PIN protection
• video retention settings
This gives businesses flexibility to balance security, convenience, and fast dispute resolution.
Account access
Access to videos inside PackCapture depends on account access and user permissions.
Businesses should limit PackCapture account access to trusted team members and remove access when staff no longer require it.
We also recommend using strong passwords and keeping email accounts secure, as account security plays an important role in protecting video access.
Recommended security practices
To help keep packing videos secure, we recommend that users:
• keep sensitive videos set to Private
• use PIN protection when sharing videos externally
• only send shareable links to authorised recipients
• avoid posting video links in public channels
• avoid forwarding links to people who do not need access
• remove or expire videos when they are no longer needed
• limit PackCapture account access to trusted staff
• use strong passwords and secure email accounts

PackCapture is designed to give businesses practical control over video security.
Videos are stored using AWS cloud infrastructure, transferred over secure HTTPS connections, and can be kept private within the PackCapture platform.
When videos need to be shared externally, PackCapture supports shareable links, randomised URLs, and optional 4-digit PIN protection.
These features help businesses securely store, manage, and share packing evidence while keeping control over how videos are accessed.
